Move & Delete: Grading & Submitting Assignments - Crime Problem
·

After the Introductory section, there are four sections. Each section has the same assignment types: Annotate Books, Discussion Posts, and Your Book Club. The Course Schedule specifies what is due when.

This page details (1) how assignments are to be submitted, and (2) how they will be graded, which reflects how they are to be completed.

General Things

There are some things that apply to submitting and grading both assignment types:

  • All assignments are submitted in iCollege.

  • All assignments are graded as complete (1 point) or incomplete (0 points).

  • To be graded as complete, an assignment must be submitted before its due date and time. (But see the Course Outline for details on a grace period.)

  • For each assignment type, the average score across submissions counts toward the final grade.

  • Each assignment type is worth a third (~33.33%) of the final grade.

Annotate Books

In the section’s iCollege submission folder, upload “My Annotation.” To be graded as complete, all of the following must happen:

  • Summarize every page (not less, not more)…

  • In your own words (no quotation or plagiarism)…

  • In one sentence (not less, not more)…

  • And, conform with the instructions in the section, “How to Make Word Docs for Annotating Books”, on the Annotate Books page.

For further details on how to complete this assignment, see the page for Annotate Books.

Discussion Posts

In the section’s iCollege submission folder, submit “My Discussion Post.” To be graded as complete, all of the following must happen:

  • Specify the location of what you found interesting and describe it (in any number of words)…

  • Specify why you found it interesting (in at least 100 words)…

  • Specify the practical implications of what you found interesting (in at least 100 words)…

  • In your own words (no quotation or plagiarism).

For further details on how to complete this assignment, see the page for Discussion Posts.

Your Book Club

In the section’s iCollege submission folder, upload “My Meeting Notes.” To be graded as complete, all of the following must happen:

  • Do everything specified in the “My Meeting Notes” section of the Your Book Club page.

  • Your peers report you seriously and respectfully engaged in discussion.

  • Your peers report you did all of the required reading, or at least a lot of it.

For further details on how to complete this assignment, see the page for Your Book Club.
