This database hosts information about data breaches reported in the popular media between the years 2010-2020. The dataset could be downloaded as an excel file to users’ computers and support users’ efforts to discover interesting annual and industry-based trends. For example, users could estimate the probability of organization from different sectors to experience a data breach, the . Since the database discloses the content of the news articles reporting the breaches, one can read through the report, extract relevant information, code it, and run analyses which can reveal potential correlation between companies attributes and the damage they experienced as a result of a hacking incident.

Kaspersky Lab allow users to download statistics and data regarding new viruses and vulnerabilities they discover. Security experts can use this data to update their security tools and improve their organizational security posture. In addition, users can learn about new viruses, the type of vulnerabilities they exploit, and the platforms the new viruses  target. Scholars can download this database, appended it with other relevant databases (for example data about website attacks) to assess the correlation between new viruses and the volume of cybercrime incidents.

the IC3 data repository is mainly used to track the annual trend of cyber dependent and cyber enabled crimes in the USA. The dataset aggregates USA cybercrime victims reports of their victimization. However, the majority of victim reports disclosed in this repository are of online fraud events. The annual reports produced by the IC3 highlight the most prevalent types of cybercrime reported by victims during the relevant year, and provide a ranking (by  prevalence) of different types of cybercrimes reported to the organization. As such, these reports could be used to construct educational and training modules. These datasets disclose information regarding the total financial losses experienced by victims, as well as allows comparing volume of victims across different states. As such, these database could be used to guide policy efforts.
